Out There Doing It
It's been a few months since we last reached out to you all with an update. We've been quite busy.
First off, if you haven't seen it already, we released a video featuring a cut off our recent release which you can check out below. This one is an original composition by (brother of the band) Nate Sparks entitled Zombies of the Metro that we filmed while we were recording up at Secret Stash Studios in Minneapolis early last year.
Secondly, and more importantly, we have finally released the previously mentioned recordings into the universe in the form of CD's that you can procure HERE!!! We had a big old release party at Gas Lamp in January, and it was a super fun and rowdy show. We are extremely appreciative of everyone who came out to support us in all the work we've put into this group. We've been alive and kicking now for 2 years and it feels great to have your continuing support.
Thirdly, we had the opportunity to play a very neat show early in February with the NOLA Jazz Band that was recorded by Iowa Public Radio and rebroadcast statewide on IPR Studio One as part of their Mardi Gras programming! We got to blast some traditional fare and some Ruckus originals out onto the airwaves. You ever get to hear yourself on the radio before? We highly recommend it. It feels pretty wild.
Looking into the future, we will be venturing down to KC, MO to play with Grand Marquis at The Brick on March 16th. We're very excited to be spreading the Ruckus a little further, a little wider, than the usual stomping grounds. There will be more details about that show on our various social medias as we get a little closer. We're also working out details for a few shows that will bring Grand Marquis up to the 515 which should be a lot of fun. Till next time, stay warm and keep on dancing.
